Jam Jars & Photographs {DIY}

This is a quick, easy and economic DIY idea perfect for your reception, kitchen tea decor or even just at home. These glass jars with colourful pictures can be used to decorate tables, shelves or window sills.

Step 1: You will need a variety of jam jars and glass bottles. Find them at hospice or bric-a-brac shops. Alternatively you can buy new glass jars and bottles at Consol.  Make sure that they are perfectly clean by washing them in the dishwasher and leave to drip dry. A clean kitchen towel with a little apple vinegar will also do wonders. Use steam to get rid of resistant labels.

Step 2: Download beautiful pictures or any photos you want to put into the jars.

Step 3: Print the pictures on photographic paper using a home ink jet printer.

Step 4: Cut out all the pictures and place them in the clean jars. Et viola, you’re done!

More quick ideas: You can use any pictures in the glass jars. Pictures of colourful fruit can look just as beautiful. Alternate the pictures with other decor elements like fresh flower or tealights. If you do not have a printer at home, you can even use pictures from a magazine. Just paste them on a piece of white cardboard first, so that you don’t see the back .
